ASMP ASA - Last night was another Third Thursday night at Austin Java on Barton Springs.  With the end of the legislative session and many other events going on that made for a very busy shooting schedule these last few months, I hadn't been to a few Third Thursdays.

Luckily, I was able to be at the one last night.  It's a great place to meet with colleagues, hear about what's new with technology, business trends, network - you name it.  We've had members from other states just happen to be at Austin Java and invited them to join us!  What fun.  And, it often turns into some very lucrative referrals - assisting jobs, shoots, styling, you name it.

You don't have to be a photographer to join us - we love having people from other areas of the business.  It's just great to sit out on the patio, or where ever else we end up and take a moment or a couple of hours to catch up with our friends and colleagues.  We don't' see each other in the labs anymore, so this is one of our solutions.

PS  San Antonio has a sister event called First Thursdays at Mad Hatters.  Another great place to be and many of us shoot in both cities and will attend events in both locations.
